Report Fraud

If you believe that you may have been a victim of identity theft, please report it immediately as instructed below:

Contact CCB Community Bank

Contact us immediately at 1-855-491-2273 during business hours or send us a secure email. Messages received after business hours will be responded to the following business day.

Contact Other Creditors

Contact any bank or other creditor where you have an account that you believe may be the subject of identity theft. Advise them of the identity theft and request that they restrict access to your account, change your account password, or close your account if there is evidence that your account has been the target of criminal activity. Also ask to cancel old and issue new credit cards, ATM cards, debit cards, and/or checks, as appropriate.

Report Unsolicited Requests for Credentials

CCB Community Bank will never contact our customers on an unsolicited basis (i.e. phone, email, text) and request logon credentials such as username and password. We will never send an email request asking you to verify or update personal information or passwords by replying to the email or by going to a website through a link included within the email. If you ever receive an unsolicited request that appears to come from CCB Community Bank asking that you provide your account information, user name, and/or password, DO NOT respond to the email or phone number provided and contact us at 1-855-491-2273 during business hours or send us a secure email. Messages received after business hours will be responded to the following business day.

Contact the Local Police Department

In the event of identity theft, it is important that you notify your local police department and file a report. Be sure to request a report number or a copy of the report for your records and, if necessary, to include it with any affidavits you may need to provide.

Contact the Federal Trade Commission (FTC)

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) maintains the Identity Theft Clearinghouse – the federal government's centralized identity theft complaint database. We encourage you to contact them and report your identity theft in one of these ways:

Notify the Credit Bureaus

If you believe that you have been a victim of identity theft, we recommend that you contact the three major credit bureaus and request them to place a "fraud alert" and a “victim’s statement” in your credit file. We also recommend that you request a free credit report from each of the credit bureaus and that you review them to determine if any fraudulent accounts have been established. Consider having the credit bureaus place a credit freeze on your credit reports. With a credit freeze, no one can access your credit report until you lift the freeze, which prevents creditors from approving any new credit account in your name.
